Alternative Power Button On The Apple Mac
In this article I show some alternative points on the motherboard / logic board of some Apple Mac useful in case of failure of the main power button or for testing the operation of the logic board.
For “Power-on Pads” means points to temporarily short-circuit to turn on the Mac without using the original power button.
On many of these Mac Unibody fact the power button is an integral part of the keyboard and it is often necessary to test – during a repair – if it is the logic board to have problems or just the power button or the flat keyboard.
It ‘good to note that to test the power of a MacBook via pad alternative you must unplug the cable / flat original from its seat as this could still prevent the ignition of the Mac. Also sometimes you need to contact more than once and for more time before you see any fan turn and turn on the Mac.
Furthermore, not all models of logic board possess the pads (feet) from short: we often have to make contact with some very small feet.
